Visakhapatnam, Oct 25 Police in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam have seized Rs 1.30 crore cash from washing machines being transported to Vijayawada in an auto-rickshaw trolley.

Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths of Visakhapatnam Crime Police seized the cash during vehicle checking near the Visakhapatnam Airport.

A total of six washing machines and 30 mobile phones were also seized from the vehicle, belonging to an electronic shop.

The person transporting the cash, washing machine and cell phones said the cash and goods were all related to Dussehra sale. As he failed to produce invoices and other relevant documents, police seized the cash and other goods.

Police registered a case under Sections 41 and 102 of the Criminal Procedure Code and took up investigations.
