Keeping student safety in mind, the district administrations of Pithoragarh and Tehri Garhwal have declared a holiday for all schools and Anganwadi centres on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

According to officials, all government, semi-government and private schools up to Class 12, along with Anganwadi centres, will remain closed in both districts. The decision was taken in view of continuous rainfall and snowfall, along with a weather department warning of heavy precipitation.
