The Maharashtra-based Shiv Sena will contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, said party member Anil Desai .

Recently party MP and Chief Spokesperson Sanjay Raut had said that Shiv Sena will soon take a decision on contesting the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Desaid said, "party will go solo and field candidates in around 50 seats for the Bihar assembly elections. A team of party leaders and workers from Maharashtra along with local party members will carry out the poll campaign. A team of party leaders will visit Patna next week.”

The Shiv Sena has alleged that the Bihar government had defamed the Maharashtra government and the Mumbai police over the Sushant Singh suicide case.

Shiv Sena will retort if BJP and JDU take up the SSR death case and speak against Shiv Sena,” Desai noted.

Kaushalendra Sharma, chief of Shiv Sena’s Bihar unit had said that Shiv Sainiks in Bihar were eager to contest the elections. It plans to contest at least 50 seats in Bihar. So they met Sanjay Raut and conveyed the demand of Shiv Sainiks in Bihar to him. Therefore, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has taken the final decision on whether to contest the elections or not, said Hauslendra Sharma.
