India is currently dealing with a devastating second Covid-19 wave that has swept through the nation, crushing the country's health infrastructure and overburdening frontline medical workers. The number of coronavirus cases in the country is increasing day by day.

The country is currently experiencing another wave of corona virus infections. The third wave is also being discussed by experts. Principal Scientific Advisor to Centre K VijayRaghavan on Wednesday said that the "third phase" of the COVID-19 is inevitable.

Amid rising covid cases, a shocking news is coming from Uttar Pradesh where due to the negligence of the health department, an unclaimed body of a woman was eaten by rats and ants in a hospital mortuary.

According to information received, the shocking incident took place in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident came to light on Thursday when the authorities discovered the woman’s body, partly eaten by rats, ants and the stench was everywhere.

The body had been lying in the morgue for four days. On the evening of April 29, a woman was found in a critical condition on the road in Bilariaganj. An unidentified 32-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital by ambulance staff at 5 p.m. However, the woman died the next morning, April 30. The staff then placed the woman's body in the morgue for a post-mortem examination. The hospital authorities alerted the district police about her death to start a post-mortem examination and other formalities.

The news caused upheaval in the hospital. AK Mishra, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Azamgarh, said that since the body was unidentified, the police were alerted about the woman’s death before carrying out a post-mortem examination. After the incident came to light, the authorities swung into action and the CMO said that the post-mortem examination will be done today, followed by cremation of the woman's body.
