In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly raped by the police constable for not wearing a mask. The incident has taken place in Surat, Gujarat. The constable had taken the victim into custody for walking around without wearing mask. The accused is posted at the Umarpada police station of Surat.

The woman has alleged that the accused abducted her from Palsana after threatening to take action against her. The woman further claimed that the accused raped her multiple times over the next few months, threatening her with action. While on one side, the woman alleged rape, the accused constable's wife accused the former of casteism. The accused police constable has been identified as Naresh Kapadia. The police are investigating the matter further.

According to the information received, the victim, a woman living in Palsana, had gone out of the house to buy milk during the 2020 lockdown. At the same time, the police constable stopped the woman for not wearing mask and arrested her, threatening to take action. Instead of taking the woman to the police station, he took her to a secluded spot on Navsari Road where he allegedly stripped and thrashed her.

The constable took inappropriate photographs of the woman and allegedly raped her. He later used the photographs to blackmail the woman and continued raping her. A police officer privy to the case said," It seems the accused cop and the woman had an affair with each other. Following disputes, they lodged complaints against each other. "
