Slain gangster Vikas Dubey's family, others booked for obtaining arms licenses using fake documents

The Uttar Pradesh police have registered an FIR against nine people, including slain gangster Vikas Dubey's brother and wife, for obtaining an arms license by using fake documents.

The Uttar Pradesh police have registered an FIR against nine people, including slain gangster Vikas Dubey's brother and wife, for obtaining an arms license by using fake documents.

The police have also filed a case for obtaining SIM cards on someone else's ID. The FIR was filed at the Chaubeypur police station.

The FIR lodged against the above people also includes names of associates Ravinder Kumar, Ashutosh Tripathy, Vishnupal, Amit, Dinesh Kumar and others. These people are accused of filing fake affidavits to obtain arms licenses.

The list of their offences include charges of fraud, cheating and forgery.

Prior to this, an SIT was formed by the Uttar Pradesh government to probe the encounter case in Bikru village in Chaubeypur area in which a group of assailants opened fire on a police team who had arrived in the village to arrest gangster Vikas Dubey.

Dubey was arrested by the Madhya Pradesh Police on July 9 from the premises of the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain. A day later, he was shot dead by the Uttar Pradesh Police in an encounter after he "attempted to flee" while being taken to Kanpur from Ujjain.
