NCP leader Ajit Pawar , who supported the BJP last week to form the government in Maharashtra , said on Wednesday that he would remain in his party and there is no reason to "create confusion" about it. Ajit Pawar told reporters here, "I have nothing to say right now, I will speak when the time is right." I had also said earlier that I am in NCP and will remain in NCP. There is no reason to create confusion.

Asked about his uncle and NCP president Sharad Pawar going to the 'Silver Oak' residence late on Tuesday night, Ajit Pawar said, "It is my right to meet my party leader". The NCP MLA, who won the assembly elections from Pune's Baramati seat by a margin of 1.65 lakh votes, shocked his party and family last Saturday when he joined hands with the BJP and became the deputy chief minister in the Devendra Fadnavis-led government.  The same day, NCP removed him from the post of its Legislature Party leader. Although he remained a member of the party. Ajit Pawar resigned as Deputy Chief Minister on Tuesday citing "personal reasons". After this, Fadnavis also resigned from the post of Chief Minister, which led to the fall of the BJP led government.
