A police officer in Surat, Gujarat, has been placed in the control reserve after a video surfaced showing him assaulting a young boy during a rehearsal for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit. The incident has triggered widespread condemnation on social media. The video shows the boy, dressed in an orange t-shirt and black pants, riding his bicycle on a street that was being used for a VVIP security rehearsal. Unaware of the ongoing drill, the boy inadvertently entered the restricted area.

Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) B.A. Gadhvi, who was on duty for the rehearsal, approached the boy and violently assaulted him. The video captures Gadhvi grabbing the boy's shirt, pulling his hair, and striking him on the back. The incident, initially reported by local news outlet Samna Digital, sparked outrage online, with many condemning the officer's excessive use of force. Netizens demanded immediate action against Gadhvi, arguing that the boy, who appeared to be unaware of the rehearsal, did not deserve such harsh treatment.

It remains unclear whether there were any clear signs or barricades indicating the road was closed for the rehearsal. Gadhvi, who is normally stationed in the Morbi district, was on duty in Surat for the Prime Minister's event.
