A shocking incident has taken place in Surat, Gujarat where a trader who failed to pay his dues was stripped of his clothes. The incident took place at New TT Market on Ring Road in Surat. The victim's clothes were removed and a sari was tied around his waist. He was given a placard in his hand with ‘thief’ written on it. The trader was seen walking quietly with lowered eyes as onlookers clicked his photos and no one came to his rescue. Police have arrested Three persons including a businessman in the case.

A trader from Tamil Nadu had come to the TT market in Surat. He had taken Rs 4 lakh from a businessman named Chandrakant Jain. However,he failed to return the money on time. Jain came to know about  trader's presence in merchant market. They found the merchant. The accused businessman and his accomplices forced the trader to take off his clothes. Jain forced him to remove his clothesand shot a video of the torture in his shop.

Police took notice after the video of the incident went viral on social media. However, the victim trader did not come forward to lodge a complaint. The police then registered a complaint themselves. Police have registered a case against accused businessman Jain and his two accomplices. Jain and his two employees Shiva and Soham were booked.“Since it was a serious case, police became the complainant and arrested the accused,” said M V Kikani, police inspector, Salabatpura police station.
