Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday announced that the state has decided to promote the students of classes 9, 10, and 11 to the next class without any examinations.

The state government made the decision in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tamil Nadu CM said today.

The Tamil Nadu Education Department will soon send notice to schools across the state in this matter. However, the state will hold exms for class 12 for which the date sheet has been released by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations.

The exams will be conducted between May 3 and May 21.
