In a shocking incident a woman who went to her friend's house was raped by him and two of his friends in Pallavaram. She managed to share her location with her brother, which led to her rescue on Tuesday.Police said the 20-year-old woman from Thirukazhukundram befriended Harish of Pallavaram on Instagram. On Oct 26, the woman left home claiming she had to attend a birthday party of her friend. Harish picked her up and took her to his room in Pallavaram where they stayed for two days. When she did not return home, her parents lodged a missing complaint at Thirukazhukundram police station.

Harish invited two of his friends who also raped the woman, police said. The woman decided to escape from his room. She managed to grab his cellphone and shared her location with her brother. Her brother alerted the police control room.

Based on the information, a team from Pallavaram all-women police rescued the woman from Harish's room in Shankar Nagar. All three suspects are absconding. Pallavaram AWPS have launched a hunt for Harish even though the woman's family refused to file a complaint. The details of all three accused are yet to be ascertained, police said.
