KAVARAPETTAI, Tamil Nadu (October 11, 2024): The Mysuru-Darbhanga Express (Train No.12578) collided with a freight train in Kavarapettai on Friday around 8:50 PM. Reports indicate that two coaches of the passenger train caught fire, and five coaches derailed due to the accident. While there is no information about any fatalities yet, several passengers sustained minor injuries from the impact.

Emergency services are on the scene to assist the injured and assess the situation. Video footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the aftermath of the collision and the extent of the damage. According to reports, trains departing from Chennai Central Railway Station have been delayed due to the train accident.
