Warangal, Telangana (January 26, 2025): Seven people, including a child, were killed and six others injured in a collision involving a lorry and two autorickshaws near Bharat Petrol Pump on Warangal-Mamunuru Road.

According to police, the lorry, which was loaded with iron rods used for railway tracks, attempted to overtake two autorickshaws. The iron rods fell onto the autorickshaws, resulting in the immediate deaths of seven people, including four women and a child.

The injured victims were rushed to MGM Hospital, and authorities fear the death toll may rise.

The accident occurred near Mamunur on the national highway linking Khammam and Warangal. Police investigations revealed that the lorry driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while speeding and applied sudden brakes, causing the lorry to overturn. The iron rods fell onto a nearby autorickshaw, killing four people instantly.

Following the crash, police, district officials, and municipal representatives rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations. A heavy crane was used to clear the iron rods from the national highway, and the lorry was removed from the area.
