Three members of a family, including a four-year-old girl, died due to asphyxiation after a fire broke out at Osman Kirana Shop in Rangareddy district of Telangana on Friday evening, February 28. The blaze erupted due to a short circuit in the electric meter box on the ground floor of the building, which also houses a convenience store.
"A fire broke out at Osman Kirana Shop in Puppalguda, Rangareddy, yesterday evening around 6 PM due to a short circuit, resulting in three fatalities and two injuries," said Narsingi Police. Three fire tenders were deployed following an emergency call at 6 PM.

The deceased, identified as Sijira Khatoon (4), Jameela Khatoon (65) and Sahana Khatoon (30), succumbed while undergoing treatment. 12 other resident were rescued from the building said Ranga Reddy fire officer Shaik Khaja Karimulla. Firefighters used a ladder to break into their first-floor flat, where they found the family unconscious. The three were carried out and rushed to Golconda Area Hospital but could not be saved.
