The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a state government official while accepting a bribe. The official, identified as Erva Balaraju Nagaraju was arrested by the ACB with a bribe of Rs 1.1 crore. Nagaraju, the tehsildar of Keesara Mandal in Telangana’s Medchal-Malkajgiri district, had demanded a bribe of Rs 2 crore from real estate dealers to settle a land dispute, according to ACB officials.  

Based on specific information that the accused officer was accepting the bribe, a team was sent to AS Rao Nagar. The official, along with two others, a land developer Chowla Srinath, who paid the bribe and Anji Reddy a land broker who acted as the middleman for the deal were caught red-handed. Nagaraju had demanded Rs 2 crore bribe to settle a dispute over 28 acres of land situated at Rampally Dayara in Keesara Mandal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. 

Following the arrest, a search at Nagaraju's premises also recovered Rs 28 lakh in cash, a huge amount of gold and a locker key. However, what has left the officials stunned is the recovery of key documents related to MP LADS funds of an MP during the raids. The documents were found with a realtor K. Anji Reddy, who is said to be close to an MP. The ACB also confiscated several documents from the possession of Nagaraju pertaining to land details of a bank locker, besides about half a kilo of gold ornaments. Many immovable properties belonging to Nagaraju were identified.
