A devastating road accident occurred in Adilabad district on Monday morning when a state-run bus veered off the road and plunged into a dry canal. Several people were seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The mishap took place near Shyampur village in Utnoor mandal. According to eyewitness accounts, the TGSRTC bus belonging to the Asifabad depot had set out for Adilabad earlier in the day. Upon reaching Shyampur, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which rammed into a roadside culvert before falling into the water below. The sudden crash triggered panic among passengers, and loud cries for help echoed across the surrounding area, drawing immediate attention from locals.

The initial reports suggest five passengers were severely injured and several others are in critical condition. As the vehicle lay partially submerged, passersby and nearby residents rushed to the scene and began rescue efforts without delay. A few farm labourers saw the accident and informed the police and rescue authorities immediately. Police teams, along with 108 emergency medical personnel, arrived promptly. Rescuers broke open the bus windows and carefully pulled the injured out through the shattered panes. The victims were transported in ambulances to the government hospital in Utnoor for urgent medical attention. Doctors stated that while treatment is ongoing for all the injured, the condition of a few remains critical. Arrangements are being made to shift them to RIMS Hospital in Adilabad for advanced care. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine whether driver fatigue or a mechanical fault led to the crash.
In a separate tragic incident in Mancherial district, a car lost control and collided with a tree, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. The deceased has been identified as MD Naseeruddin, who was serving as a Deputy Inspector in the Survey and Land Records Department. He was travelling from Nirmal to Mancherial along with his daughter, Neha Shareen and granddaughter Ira Hareen. Near Dostnagar in Kadem mandal, the car reportedly went out of control and crashed into a tree. Naseeruddin, who was seated in the front, sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. His daughter, granddaughter, and the driver, Bilaluddin, suffered serious injuries and were immediately shifted to a government hospital. Police have registered a case and initiated a detailed probe into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
