Those eating the food given by Pakistan are against the farmers' protest, Chhattisgarh Congress leader RP Singh said on Tuesday amid the ongoing 'Bharat Bandh' called by farmers as they continue their agitation against the farm laws.

"Those eating the food grown by Indian farmers are supporting the farmers' protest and those eating food given by Pakistan are against it," Singh tweeted in Hindi. He was responding to a tweet by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

Baghel had, in a tweet, remarked that the entire country including Chhattisgarh is standing with the farmers of the country.

This comes amid the 'Bharat Bandh' called by the thousands of farmers who have been protesting at different borders of the national capital since November 26 against the farm laws, recently passed by the Central government.

After several rounds of talks between farmers and the central government remained inconclusive, thousands of farmers protesting against the Centre's agricultural sector laws have called for "Bharat Bandh" today demanding the immediate recall of the farm laws.

The farmers are protesting against the three newly enacted farm laws -- Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

Leaders of farmer groups have held several rounds of talks with the government but all of them remained inconclusive so far. After the fifth round of talks, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has called another meeting on December 9.
