Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait on Thursday questioned the Delhi Police over Punjabi actor & singer Deep Sidhu instigating the violence that took place on January 26 at Red Fort.

The premises of the historic monument was vandalized as the protesters went on a rampage destroying checking machines, ticket counters, furniture, and everything that came in their way. Some of the protesters climbed the walls of the fort and installed their flag at the flagstaff.

Someone goes there & hoists a flag, why was no firing done? Where was Police? How did he go there? Police allowed him to leave & didn't arrest him. Nothing has been done even now. Who was the person who maligned an entire community & organization?, asked Rakesh Tikait.

Delhi Police on Thursday issued notice to Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait asking to explain as to why legal action should not be taken against him for breaching the agreement with police regarding the tractor rally on January 26.

Delhi Police has put up notice outside Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait's tent at Ghazipur border. The notice also reads, "You are also directed to provide names of the perpetrators of such violent acts belonging to your organisation. You are directed to submit your response within 3 days."

I'll read the notice, they've given me 3-day time for reply...Farmers came here as responsibility of farmer unions & they take their responsibility. We had photographed the route given to us in writing. Police barricaded it & kept the route to Delhi free, said Rakesh Tikait.

The names of Deep Sidhu and gangster Lakka Sadana have been included in an FIR registered by Delhi Police in connection with the violence at Red Fort in Delhi on Tuesday.
