In a heartbreaking incident in Surat, a young girl lost her life after a car collided with the entrance gate of a housing society, causing it to collapse on top of her. Tragically, the vehicle then ran over the girl, who was trapped underneath the fallen gate, before continuing into the society without stopping. The horrific event occurred while the girl, the daughter of the society's security guard, was playing near the entrance.
The police have arrested the driver, identified as Harshit, for negligence and have seized the car involved in the tragic accident. A video of the incident showed bystanders chasing the vehicle as it drove away, oblivious to the girl still trapped beneath it.The incident unfolded when the car, which Harshit had borrowed for the occasion of Holi, crashed into the gate of the housing complex.
The driver failed to stop and continued driving, unaware of the fatal consequences his actions had caused. According to Senior Police Officer Bhagirath Gadhvi, a case has been registered against Harshit under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and he is currently in police custody. In an effort to determine whether Harshit was driving under the influence, the police have conducted a medical examination.
