Vijay is contesting from two constituencies, Perambur and Trichy East. He had filed his nomination in Perambur on March 30 and submitted his papers for Trichy East on April 2, followed by a campaign.

After filing his nomination, Vijay paid homage at the MGR statue in the Marakkadai area of Trichy and held a campaign rally. During his speech, he criticised both the central and state governments over the shortage of cooking gas cylinders.

Vijay also targeted the DMK, accusing it of failing to fulfil promises made during the 2021 elections, including gas subsidies, reduction in petrol and diesel prices, and the cancellation of NEET. Alleging that the film Janyayan was halted due to a conspiracy, Vijay said he was seeking justice for himself and the people. He urged voters not to trust the BJP or the DMK and to give him an opportunity.
