New Delhi, March 10 The nation is celebrating the festival of colours with great zeal and enthusiasm, marking the triumph of good over evil, the arrival of the spring season and the spirit of unity.

With Holi celebrations in full-swing, netizens on Tuesday flooded the social media with the wishes.

A user wrote, "Holi is a celebration of life. And on this day, we are asking you to not only celebrate life but help protect it. In the face of #Coronavirus infection, let's play it safe and add some precautions to the Holi-fun. Wishing you all a safe and colourful Holi!"

Another wrote, "Aao khushiyon ko rangon mein samet kar udate hai...Thoda rang tum lao thoda rang hum laate hai...Thodi mithai tum khilao thodi hum khilate hai...Ekta or Sadbhav ki Rajdhani h Dilli, Aao Delhi ko Dilse Dilli Banate h...Aao milkar pyaar se Holi Manate hai."

A post read, "Greetings and best wishes on the occasion of #Holi . The festival of colours unites & binds us in the spirit of brotherhood. May it bring joy and peace in everyone's lives. Let's join hands to play Holi with colours of love!"

"This 2020 Holi may bring lots and lots of colorful seasons and days in your life filled with a plenty of happiness and love. Wish you a very Happy Holi" a user remarked.

Holi celebrations began a week in advance for children, where small kids used to hide on terraces or balconies and splash oncoming people with water and water balloons. It irritated them but then "Bura Na Mano Holi Hai" was the defence.

On the day of Holi, people wake up early and start prepping for Holi celebrations. They smear each other in colour pigments/gulaal, spray water on each other and enjoy a range of snacks to mark the oncoming of spring.
