Two Lashkar terrorists arrested in Srinagar

Two terrorists, affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba, were arrested here on Sunday and weapons seized from them, police said.

Srinagar, March 1 Two terrorists, affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba, were arrested here on Sunday and weapons seized from them, police said.

The two were identified as Vakeel Ahmed Bhat aka Abu Zarrar and Omar Ismail Das, both residents of Bijbehara, Anantnag and according to police records, active terrorists.

According to police, acting on a credible input, a team of police and other security forces intercepted a car on the Barzulla-Chanapora road and apprehended Bhat and Ismail Das.

Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were seized from their possession.

A police case was registered and investigations have been launched to ascertain if they were involved in other terror incidents.
