Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], March 3 : Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Monday hailed Noida as the "biggest employment hub" in India's textile sector, outlining a vision for the Indian industry to reach a $350 billion market size by 2030.

Speaking toat the Annual Awards for Outstanding Export Performance, he thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for Noida's achievements.

"Today, Noida is the biggest employment hub in the textile sector, across the entire country... I would also like to thank the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for this... An emerging India is visible under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. After the agriculture sector, the textile sector has provided employment to more than 5 crore people in the last 10 years," he said.

"The country is witnessing that the purchasing power in the textile sector has increased," he added.

Emphasizing that such growth is a symbol of rising India, he added, "I believe that in the coming times, the whole of India will reach a market size of 350 billion dollars."

The Union Minister also took to X to highlight Noida's emergence as a global apparel exports hub, resulting in the creation of lakhs of jobs.

The Annual Awards for Outstanding Export Performance were organised by the Noida Apparel Export Cluster, according to an X post by the Ministry of Textiles.

The post noted, "Hon'ble Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, attended the Annual Awards for Outstanding Export Performance organised by the Noida Apparel Export Cluster in Noida, along with Hon'ble MP Shri Mahesh Sharma, highlighting Noida's growing role as a global apparel export hub that generates large-scale employment and strengthens India's textile & apparel sector as a key driver of economic growth, MSME empowerment and women workforce participation."
