Bengaluru, Feb 11 Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday assured that the Central government will extend full support for Karnataka’s growth and industrial development, underscoring that the state has the potential to emerge as the leader in industrial growth and GDP in the country.

Speaking at the inauguration of the "GIM Invest Karnataka 2025", Joshi emphasised that Karnataka would attract more investors if the state focused on infrastructure development.

He further stated that he would work diligently at the Centre as the state’s representative to ensure that the central government provides the necessary support.

In his speech, Joshi highlighted the beneficial timing of having both the Aero Show and the Investors Summit happening simultaneously in Bengaluru. This, he noted, is a significant advantage for investors attending both events.

"For industrial development, we must focus on skill, scale, and speed. If we do so, India will have the power to meet the needs of the entire world,” he asserted.

The Union Minister also provided an update on significant projects benefiting Karnataka. The Central government is investing over Rs 15,000 crore for the completion of Phase 3 of the Bengaluru Metro project. Under the UDAN-3 scheme, cities like Ballari, Kolar, and Hassan are being connected by air travel, providing much-needed connectivity.

Additionally, he highlighted that over 1 lakh start-ups are operating in the country, with Rs 1,000 crore allocated this year to support these ventures. Joshi also pointed out that Karnataka stands to benefit greatly from the Sagarmala project, which is aimed at enhancing port connectivity and logistics.

Addressing the significant investments expected through the meet, Joshi noted that the state is set to receive an astounding Rs 10 lakh crore in investments, a monumental achievement.

He praised Minister for Large and Medium Industries M B Patil for his tireless efforts over the past three months to make this event a success, calling him highly deserving of recognition.
