Balrampur, Oct 26 A 35-year-old man immolated himself in front of a police station in Uttar Pradesh's Balrampur district after he was said to be upset over a land dispute.

Ram Bujharath was rushed to the hospital, from where he was referred to KGMU’s trauma centre in Lucknow.

His condition was stated to be serious.

District Magistrate Arvind Kumar Singh said that a magisterial probe has been ordered into the matter.

SP Balrampur, Keshav Kumar said that a lekhpal and revenue team is probing the case pertaining to land number 237 in Gaidas Bujurg police station.

Police said that Ram reached the police station and before anybody could stop him, he immolated himself.

The SP said that the victim had given a written complaint to the Gaidas Bujurg police station about a dispute of his land number 237 on October 23.

“We had already formed a team comprising a lekhpal, ADM and a police officer for a probe,” he added.
