The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested a Junior Works Manager from Kanpur Ordnance Factory on Wednesday for allegedly leaking classified information to a Pakistani intelligence operative via social media.

The accused, identified as Kumar Vikas, was reportedly in contact with a suspected Pakistani agent using the alias "Neha Sharma." According to officials, Vikas shared sensitive documents related to ordnance manufacturing, employee attendance, machine layouts, and production charts through WhatsApp.

His arrest follows the March 13 detention of another Ordnance Factory employee, Ravindra Kumar, in Firozabad for similar offenses. During interrogation, Kumar's statements led ATS officials to Vikas, who had allegedly been communicating with the suspected agent since January 2025.

The agent, posing as a Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) employee, initially contacted Vikas on Facebook before they shifted to WhatsApp for further exchanges. To evade detection, they also used the Ludo gaming app for covert discussions.

Authorities stated that Vikas was enticed with financial incentives to leak classified information. He has been taken into custody, and legal proceedings are in progress.
