In shocking turnoff event, Gurdeep Singh, a 103-year-old farmer from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, was sent to jail by his own sons in a conspiracy driven by property greed. Fearing that their father would donate his five-acre land to a gurdwara, his two sons plotted against him, keeping him imprisoned for 19 months.

The dispute dates back to 2018 when Gurdeep Singh and his family became embroiled in a legal case over an attempted murder charge. While they were initially granted bail, the court proceedings continued. Meanwhile, Gurdeep’s sons, Kamaljit and Harpreet, devised a plan to keep him out of the legal process. They falsely assured him that the case had been settled and that he no longer needed to attend court hearings. However, they secretly continued to appear in court without informing him.

After Gurdeep Singh remained absent for multiple hearings, the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him. In August 2022, he was arrested and sent to jail. There, he shared his plight with the jail superintendent, revealing that no one came to visit him and that he lacked even basic necessities like proper clothing or a turban to protect himself from the cold. Moved by his situation, the jail superintendent reached out to an NGO for help.

The NGO stepped in, providing Gurdeep Singh with essential items and arranging legal assistance for his bail. Upon hearing of this, his sons panicked and opposed his release. They even offered to take bail themselves but refused to grant it to their father. However, after three months, the court intervened and ordered his release.
