In a shocking incident that took place in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district, where the bride's family called off the wedding after she was dragged on the dance floor by groom's friend's.

The bride's father decided to call off the wedding as he thought her daughter cannot be forced to tie the knot with a man who does not respect her. , said the father

The groom belongs to a village in Bareilly district, while the bride is from Kannauj district. On December 11, both the families arrived in Bareilly for a grand wedding ceremony. Everything was going smoothly until few friends of the groom dragged the bride to the dance floor, triggering a heated argument between the two sides.

Following this, the wedding was cancelled, and the bride decided to go back home. The bride’s family also filed a dowry complaint against the groom’s family. The two sides arrived at a settlement after the groom’s family agreed to pay Rs 6.5 lakh, according to a report by The Times of India.

On Sunday, the groom’s family also tried to convince the bride’s family for re-arranging a simple ceremony to solemnize the marriage, but in vain. The bride refused to tie the knot over the “misbehaviour” meted out to her.
