A minor dispute during a cricket match escalated into a violent clash between two groups in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh. The incident left eight people injured, including two women.

Police said the injured were taken to a hospital, and security has been tightened in the area to prevent further violence.

According to officials, the fight broke out in the Qazipara area under the Sasni Gate police station limits. The dispute started between two neighbors, Anas and Mohsin, during a cricket match. Local residents initially intervened and settled the argument. However, tensions flared again on Thursday night, leading to a full-blown altercation.

City Superintendent of Police M. Shekhar Pathak said the dispute quickly turned into a violent clash, leaving several people injured. Some were wounded in a knife attack, while others sustained injuries in gunfire. Stones were also thrown at houses during the chaos.

Among the injured, five people suffered head injuries and were referred for further treatment. Police continue to monitor the situation to prevent any further unrest.
