A father in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for the brutal murder of his five-year-old daughter, dismembering her body and concealing the remains. The motive behind the heinous act, according to police, was a petty dispute with neighbors. Mohit Mishra, 40, was apprehended after confessing to choking his daughter, Tani, to death and then mutilating her body. The investigation began on February 25th, when police received a missing person report, filed by Mishra himself, regarding his daughter.
"We registered a case and formed four teams to locate the child," stated Additional Superintendent of Police Pravin Ranjan Singh. "During the search, we discovered a piece of her body. The following day, we found additional remains, confirming she had been murdered." Suspicion fell on Mishra when he abruptly disappeared, leaving his phone with his wife. "We were conducting repeated interviews when the father vanished," Singh explained. "His disappearance raised red flags. After he resurfaced, he was questioned extensively and confessed to the crime."
Mishra revealed that the murder stemmed from his anger over his daughter's continued visits to his neighbors, with whom he had a recent falling out. "Previously, our families were close, but after an argument, we stopped visiting each other," Mishra told police. "I repeatedly told my daughter not to go to Ramu's house, but she ignored me."On the day of the murder, Mishra reportedly saw Tani returning from Ramu's residence, triggering a fit of rage. He took her on his motorcycle to a secluded area, choked her to death with her own clothing, and then disposed of her body in a mustard field.
