In an unexpected turn of events, a shocking crime incident reported in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow after woman body was discovered inside a sleeper coach of the Chhapra Gomti Nagar Express. Police reported that deceased was murdered somewhere else before packed into box and bag and abandoned on the train. This gruesome act was discovered on Sunday May 17 after train arrived at Gomti Nagar railway station from Chhapra. During the routine cleaning process, a sanitation worker noticed an unclaimed box and bag lying inside the S-1 sleeper coach.
A suspicious luggage prompted a railway worker to alert authorities, leading Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force, and forensic teams to the scene. Inside the box, officials discovered the headless torso of a woman, estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old. A nearby bag contained her severed hands and legs, sparking panic at the station.Police suspect the victim was brutally murdered and dismembered to conceal her identity. The missing head complicates identification. A post-mortem examination has been ordered.
Investigators are working to identify the station where the box and bag were loaded, believing the perpetrator used the busy train route to transport and dispose of the body discreetly. GRP Inspector Dharmveer Singh stated that two special teams are investigating the case. CCTV footage from stations between Chhapra and Gomti Nagar will be reviewed to track the luggage and identify suspects.
Police are also exploring motives, including personal rivalry, domestic conflict, and other criminal possibilities. Passengers from the coach may be questioned about any suspicious activity observed during the journey.
