A section of the service road in Noida's Sector 100 caved in early Monday following heavy rainfall overnight. The collapse formed a massive crater estimated to be around 12 feet wide and 15 feet deep. Officials have placed temporary barricades around the affected area to prevent accidents and have restricted vehicle movement.

A video showing a large hole in the middle of the road has gone viral on social media.

Local residents blamed the Noida Authority for negligence and poor infrastructure maintenance. Many expressed concerns over the threat to life and property posed by such incidents.

The city experienced a heavy downpour with thunderstorms early in the day. The India Meteorological Department has forecast more rain with thunderstorms for the rest of the week. The minimum temperature is expected to drop to 20 degrees Celsius.
