Strong winds on Tuesday, brought light rain and drizzle in several areas. A sudden storm with wind speeds exceeding 30 kmph caused widespread power outages in Lucknow. Electricity substations preemptively shut down, leaving many neighborhoods without power.

Two-wheeler riders struggled to navigate the strong winds, with outer areas of the city experiencing the worst impact.  Night temperatures were also 5.2 degrees above normal at 23 degrees Celsius. Humidity persisted until winds picked up after 10 pm, followed by the rapid arrival of dark clouds.

The Amausi meteorological centre attributes this change to a western disturbance that originated over Iran, arriving in Lucknow a day later than the initially expected Monday night. The effects are forecast to ease by Thursday.
