A male dance teacher at a private convent school in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The arrest followed allegations that the teacher had inappropriately touched students, reportedly taking them to bus parking areas or school toilets.
A video circulating on social media from the school premises shows the teacher being physically assaulted by a parent. This incident reportedly occurred after the teacher was caught in an alleged act of indecency with a minor girl studying in Class 2.The teacher is now in police custody, and an investigation into the allegations is underway. The family members of the young girl created a ruckus at the school and attacked the teacher.
After the matter came to light, the Class 2 student's family reached the police station and lodged a case against the dance teacher. According to reports, he has been charged for molesting the female student. The police have initiated legal action against the accused and arrested him under the POCSO Act.
On Tuesday, Police Officer Asha Singh released a video on X and said, "Taking cognisance of the information about a dance teacher of a school situated in Thana Kotwali area doing obscene acts with school children, a case was immediately registered under relevant sections and the concerned dance teacher has been arrested, legal action is underway".
