Residents across the country have complained about abnormally high electricity bills, which they received after the lockdown. A strange incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh where a farmer has received an electricity bill of Rs 26 lakh.

Due to the actions of the power department in Unnao, a farmer who works on someone else's farm has got this inflated bill. The incident has come as a shock to the farmer's family.

As per reports, an electricity bill of Rs 26 lakh was received by Ramu Rathore, a resident of Behta village in Ganga Ghat police station area. Farmer Ramu Rathore's family has gone into a state of shock after he received such high bill. 

After the farmer received inflated bill, he has been constantly visiting the office of power department. But his complaints to the departmet fell on deaf ears. 

According to Ramu Rathore, he does not own any land and has to marry off his five daughters. I don't know how I received bill of Rs 26 lakh. I told the authorities about it, but they are just giving assurances, and no one is taking the matter seriously.

When media asked Upendra Tiwari, an officer of the power department, about this matter, he said that the matter has now come to our notice and the electricity bill of the farmer will be changed immediately. He received  electricity bill of Rs 26 lakh due to a technical problem.
