Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], January 29 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday flagged off the 'Lab on Wheels' (Infosys Springboard) from the Chief Minister's Camp Office to promote skill development among students.

This mobile lab will provide hands-on learning opportunities in Artificial Intelligence, coding, IoT, and other emerging technology domains. It will also assist students in learning various science experiments through virtual modes, a release said.

The Lab on Wheels will offer students an effective platform for learning by doing. Over the next five years, the Infosys Springboard Lab on Wheels will travel across educational institutions throughout the state, creating awareness among students, providing hands-on training, and connecting them with global opportunities.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap in the availability of hands-on training for students in the state. The practical and experiential learning facilities available in the Lab on Wheels will be beneficial for students pursuing higher education, technical education, and school education.

Earlier today, Dhami chaired a review meeting to assess the status of agriculture-related GI tags, House of Himalaya, Millet Mission, Apple Mission, Kiwi Mission, and Honey Mission.

He also reviewed the department's action plan for the coming year. The meeting was held at the State Secretariat in Dehradun.

A day earlier, the Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to 1,035 assistant teachers (primary education), including 17 special educators, at Government Doon Medical College in Patel Nagar in Dehradun.

Extending his best wishes to all the selected candidates on Wednesday, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister expressed confidence that the newly appointed teachers would play a significant role in improving the standard of education in the state.

Dhami stated that the responsibility for shaping Uttarakhand's future rests with them.

"When a child receives quality education along with moral values, it not only transforms their own life but also makes a valuable contribution to the development of society and the nation. Teachers are the architects of the country's bright future," he said.
