Heavy rainfall lashed the lower regions of Uttarkashi district, while higher altitudes, including Mukhwa, Harsil, and Dharali, witnessed light snowfall. The revered Gangotri Dham has been blanketed in one foot of fresh snow, with snowfall continuing in the area.

The severe weather conditions have led to disruptions in transportation. The Gangotri National Highway has been blocked near Chagtak due to a glacier slide, making travel to the region difficult. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and working on clearing the route.

Locals and pilgrims have been advised to exercise caution, as unpredictable weather conditions may lead to further roadblocks and hazards. The district administration has also issued warnings regarding potential landslides in the rain-affected regions.
