Uttarkash, Uttarakhand (April 16, 2025): A young woman believed to be between 20 and 25 years old drowned in the River Ganga at Manikarnika Ghat in Uttarkashi while filming a video for social media. The incident took place when the woman lost her balance and was swept away by the river’s strong current. She had been standing in the water without any support when she slipped and was pulled under. The entire moment was captured on video and has since gone viral online.

Local police launched a search operation immediately after the incident. However, as of now, the woman’s body has not been recovered. Officials said the river’s strong flow is making it difficult to trace her.
