After the shocking Saurabh murder case in Meerut, the infamous "blue drum" has become a grim point of discussion. The case has triggered a surge of disturbing stories involving disputes between couples. In one such incident, a senior assistant loco pilot posted in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi has alleged that his wife threatened to kill him in a manner similar to the Meerut case.

The Varanasi police, under the Sigra police station, have registered a case against the loco pilot's wife and his brother-in-law. The loco pilot, Sumit Kumar, a native of Tarari village in Gaya district of Bihar, is currently posted in the North Eastern Railway’s Varanasi Division. He resides with his wife, Sakshi, in a rented house in Chittupur, reported Live Hindustan.

According to Sumit’s complaint, he overheard a disturbing conversation between his wife and her brother, Raviraj, on his mobile phone. In the recording, the two were allegedly plotting to murder him. When he confronted his wife, she reportedly threatened to kill him “like the Meerut murderer.” Soon after, she called her brother, and together they allegedly assaulted him and issued a threat to kill him within three days, vowing to replicate the "drum murder."

Sumit further claimed that his wife is attempting to murder him in order to claim a government job under the dependent quota. Fearing for his life, he submitted the audio recording to the police as evidence and requested immediate protection.

The investigation has been assigned to Kashi Vidyapeeth outpost in-charge, Vikalp Shandilya. Acting police station in-charge Raj Bahadur Maurya confirmed that both parties are being questioned as part of the inquiry.
