In unexpected turn of events, a young woman allegedly attempted to end her life by jumping into Ganga river. She took this step reportedly after her boyfriend slapped her during argument at Bhadaeni Ghat in Varanasi. This dramatic incident occurred on Tuesday, April 7 night causing panic among the people present at location. 

As per the reports, couple as sitting on the ghat steps around 9pm when a heated argument broke out between them over an undisclosed issue. During this dispute, the youth allegedly slapped the woman, leaving her deeply upset. Moments later, the woman shocked onlookers by suddenly jumping into the river. The incident, filmed by a bystander on a mobile phone, quickly went viral on social media.

As panic erupted, nearby boatmen responded swiftly, jumping into the river and successfully rescuing the woman. Witnesses reported she was initially frightened but gradually regained her composure. After the incident, both the youth and the woman left the scene, and the details of their conversation remain unknown. No police complaint has been filed. Authorities have contacted the woman's family, who reported she had been experiencing mental stress.
