A 21-year-old athlete died of a heart arrest while competing in the All India Inter-University Wushu Championship at Chandigarh University. The incident has once again raised concerns over the increasing cases of heart attacks among young individuals.

Mohit Sharma, a resident of Jaipur, collapsed in the ring during his bout on Monday. He did not regain consciousness. Referees and officials rushed to help, but he remained unresponsive. He was immediately taken to a district hospital in Mohali, where doctors pronounced him dead.

A video of the incident shows Mohit falling face-first in the ring. When he failed to move, the referee attempted to lift him. Realizing something was wrong, officials carried him out of the ring and transported him to the hospital.

Mohit had arrived in Chandigarh three days earlier to compete in the championship. He was competing in the 85 kg category and had won his first-round match. He was leading in the second round when his health suddenly deteriorated.

During the fight, both Mohit and his opponent fell outside the ring. They got back up and re-entered the ring to resume the match. As the referee instructed them to continue, Mohit walked toward his opponent but collapsed. Efforts to revive him failed.
