Video of PM Narendra Modi Interacting With Various Animals, Feeding Lion Cubs at Vantara Animal Shelter in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Anant Ambani’s Vantara conservation and rehabilitation centre during his three-day Gujarat visit on Tuesday, March 4. Vantara shelters more than 2,000 species and over 1.5 lakh rescued, endangered, and threatened animals. The animal shelter is spread over 3000 acres in Gujarat's Jamnagar, where the Reliance refinery complex is situated. 

The news agency ANI shared a video of PM Modi in which the Prime Minister can be seen closely feeding animals, including lion cubs, and interacting with them at Vantara. He was also seen playing with orangutans, Asiatic Lion cubs, White Lion cubs, and Clouded Leopard cubs, which are rare and endangered species.

PM explored various facilities at the centre in Vantara. He also visited Elephant Hospital, which was equipped with MRI, CT scans, and ICUs, among other things. The hospital also houses multiple departments, including Wildlife Anesthesia, Cardiology, Nephrology, Endoscopy, Dentistry, and Internal Medicine.

In a video, PM Modi is also seen visiting the MRI room at the hospital, where a lion is undergoing an MRI. He also went to check out an operation theater, where a Leopard is going through life-saving surgery after being hit by a car on the highway and brought here, reported India Today News.

The wild animals at the centre are kept in a mirrored cage where PM Modi was seen touching the glass, where a wild lion was seen touching his face. He was also seen feeding and touching an Okapi, carrying Chimpanzees. He also hugged the Orangutan and played with him.

PM Modi was also seen catching a large python, a unique two-headed snake, a two-headed turtle, a Tapir, leopard cubs that were left in an agricultural field and later spotted by villagers and rescued, a giant otter, Bongo (antelope), and Seals.
