Kochi, Oct 24 After Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan targetted the Congress party for inviting a 'social media expert' and poll strategist Sunil Kanugolu for campaign related issues, for which they claimed they are paying from their pocket, the grand old party on Tuesday alleged that Vijayan spends Rs 6.67 lakhs a month for managing his social media account.

Speaking to the media, Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan said this expenditure of Vijayan is met by using the tax payers' money and this happens at a time when the state is passing through its worst ever financial crisis.

“It has now come to light that there are 12 team members managing the social media account of Vijayan and are being paid Rs 22,000 to Rs 75,000. All what we see is on an average there are around 30 posts in his various accounts in a month, which means, one post a day. This is the extent of the way how cash strapped state’s finances is being wasted as for this team it costs the state Rs 6.67 lakh,” said Satheesan.
