Muslim community people were seen supporting the Waqf Amendment Bill. They held a rally supporting the bill. They expressed their happiness and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Women in Burqas were carrying flowers and posters that read “Shukriya Modi Ji.” Celebrations took place near Hatai Kheda Dam as the bill will be tabled in Parliament on April 2. Muslim people speaking with IANS said that if this bill gets passed, it will be more than enough. People will get facilities and benefits once it is approved.

The Janata Dal (United), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and a few other parties voiced concerns, which the national government took into consideration when drafting the Waqf Amendment Bill. The law is therefore anticipated to pass with few major obstacles when it is submitted in the Lok Sabha on April 2. The federal government has promised NDA allies that the measure will be enacted prospectively rather than retroactively after it is passed.

Properties already under the Waqf Board's jurisdiction will not be impacted by the Waqf law's retroactive application, which is advantageous. The Waqf Amendment Act will take effect on the day it is notified. In what is perceived as a form of government concession, the Waqf Board will continue to own the properties that are currently under its jurisdiction under this bill.

The majority of its allies' requests about this law have been met by the BJP-led NDA government, hence, it is unlikely that they will reject the bill in the Lok Sabha. The Janata Dal (United), however, has declared that after the measure is put up for discussion, it will examine even the smallest aspects. The government is certain that both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha would approve the bill.

The Waqf Amendment Bill, however, is being opposed by the opposition. They contend that it violates the Constitution. Despite this, Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, has stated that he is confident the bill will pass the Lok Sabha. The BJP has talked with its allies to make sure it passes smoothly. Speaking with the reporters, he said, "Some leaders, including some religious leaders, are misleading innocent Muslims. The same people said that CAA would take away the citizenship status of Muslims, but nothing like that happened. Many Congress leaders and opposition parties privately say that this Bill is needed, but they are opposing it for vote bank.”

All MPs Must Be Present:

As the Waqf Amendment Bill is set to be introduced in the Lok Sabha, the BJP has issued a three-line whip to its MPs, instructing them to be present in the House throughout Wednesday and support the government's stance. The Congress has also issued a similar whip, asking its MPs to be present.
