Congress leader Shashi Tharoor gave his opinion on the role of regional parties in Indian politics. Along with this, he targeted the Narendra Modi government at the Centre regarding the Citizenship Amendment Bill. In response to a question, he said that there are many ministers in the Modi cabinet who cannot prove where they are, they do not even have a birth certificate. Taking the name of Union Minister General VK Singh, Shashi Tharoor said that he has even filed a case that the date of birth and the official document written in his birth certificate is different.

This is the problem in our India, the records are very wrongly kept here. There are many backward areas in the country, where people do not have a birth certificate. Taking a dig at Amit Shah, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said that he has always held only Congress and Jawaharlal Nehru responsible for everything. Whatever be the issue in the country, Amit Shah blames the Congress and former Prime Minister Nehru for everything. Shashi Tharoor  said this during a discussion on the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
