Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes on International Women’s Day 2025 and announced that his social media accounts would be taken over by women who have made significant contributions in various fields.

Sharing a video on X, Modi paid tribute to women’s empowerment and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting women through policies and programs. "We bow to our Nari Shakti on Women's Day. Our government has always worked to empower women, and today, as promised, my social media platforms will be taken over by women making a mark in different fields," he wrote.

The global theme for International Women’s Day 2025 is "For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment."

Speaking at an event in Surat, Modi said he had encouraged women across the country to share their success stories on the NaMo app. "Many sisters and daughters have shared their inspiring journeys. On this special occasion, I will be handing over my social media accounts to some of these women," he said.
