At least 20 passengers were injured in a bus accident that took place in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district on Monday morning, April 14. The accident occurred when a bus lost control and rammed into a tree. Local people immediately rescued the injured and rushed them to the hospital. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Earlier, a speeding car killed one person and injured eight others in an accident. All the injured were admitted to the hospital, but Aminur Rahman succumbed to his injuries. Police have already arrested the driver, Siddhanta Das, in connection with the case. A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered, and the Lalbazar Detective Branch has taken over the investigation.

Aminur, 61, was an employee of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. He is survived by his wife and two sons. His elder son, Asimur Rahman, is a drawing teacher. However, during his free time, he also works as a food delivery agent. Aminur had arranged Asimur’s marriage a few months ago. The bride is a resident of Raspunja in South 24 Parganas. The wedding was scheduled to take place on Tuesday. However, instead of a grand celebration, the ceremony has been postponed due to the sudden death of the family’s head.
