A devastating fire broke out at the handicraft fair held at Asansol Polo Ground in West Bengal, leaving several stalls gutted and their goods reduced to ashes. The incident, which occurred in the afternoon saw a quick response from fire services, with multiple fire tenders arriving at the scene to control the flames. Despite the extensive damage to the stalls and materials, authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported.

The handicraft fair, which had attracted a large crowd of visitors, was a significant event for local artisans and traders, offering a platform to showcase their creations. Unfortunately, the fire has caused substantial financial losses to many small business owners who relied on this fair for income. Local authorities and fire officials have assured that an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire and to ensure that such an incident does not occur again in the future. Meanwhile, community leaders and stall owners have expressed their concerns about the lack of adequate fire safety measures at such events and are calling for improved protocols in future gatherings.

While the fair’s organizers and participants are still grappling with the aftermath of the incident, the quick and efficient response of the fire department has been commended for preventing any casualties or injuries.
