A passenger travelling from Delhi to Bangkok was intercepted at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport after security personnel discovered suspected wildlife items in his hand baggage during routine screening. According to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the incident occurred during a standard security check when personnel noticed suspicious items in the baggage of a passenger scheduled to board a flight to Bangkok. Upon closer inspection, the items were identified as antlers, which raised concerns of possible wildlife smuggling.

Following the detection, the passenger along with the suspected antlers was immediately handed over to officials of the Wildlife Protection authorities in India for further investigation and legal action under relevant wildlife protection laws. Authorities said the swift detection highlights the alertness of airport security teams and the strong coordination between various agencies operating at the airport. Officials also noted that the incident reflects the continued vigilance at the airport and the seamless cooperation among security and enforcement agencies in preventing illegal wildlife trafficking while ensuring national security.
