A woman reportedly fainted outside a gas agency on Waghodiya Road in Vadodara on Thursday afternoon, with a video of the incident quickly going viral on social media. The woman is believed to have collapsed due to the intense heat while waiting in line.

In the viral video, the woman can be seen lying unconscious on the ground outside the gas agency as a long queue of people waits to book LPG cylinders. Many individuals standing in the line appear to remain in place, seemingly reluctant to leave the queue and risk losing their turn.

The footage also shows bystanders sprinkling water on the woman’s face in an attempt to revive her. According to sources, she later regained consciousness and eventually rejoined the queue.

The incident comes amid widespread reports of long queues outside gas agencies across several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, as households rush to refill LPG cylinders.

The shortage has also begun affecting small businesses and restaurants. Some food outlets have reportedly switched to induction cookers and traditional stoves as commercial LPG cylinders have become difficult to obtain.

Hospitality associations say the situation is particularly severe for commercial LPG supply, forcing some restaurants to temporarily shut down operations.

Meanwhile, the waiting period between booking two LPG cylinders remains 25 days in urban areas. However, since Wednesday night (March 11, 2026), the interval has been extended to 45 days in rural areas.
